Use a sunshade or window visor – be sure to use these when you’re leaving your car for a few minutes. If you’ll be away for longer periods, place one in your rear window too.
Get a dash cover – not only will it keep the dash cool but it’ll prevent sensitive vinyl from cracking and fading in colour due to sun damage.
Shady areas are your friends – we know it isn’t always possible, however, parking in shady areas can do wonders for keeping your car cool.
Leave a slight crack in your windows – this will allow a bit of ventilation into your car so when you get in, it won’t feel as stuffy as it could have felt. Just make sure you can’t fit your arm through – if you can, burglars can too.
Keep possessions out of sight – this doesn’t contribute to keeping your car cool but it does protect your possessions like CDs – if you still use them – and other delicate items from sun damage. It also contributes to theft prevention – but you already knew that.
